Karim Adeyemi is a professional football player who plays as a striker for the German national team. The Munich-born athlete, who began his pro career in 2018 at the age of 16, previously played club football for the Austrian team Red Bull Salzburg. In 2022, he signed a deal to join the German club Borussia Dortmund. He is the latest attractive young star to sign for the Dortmund-based club, following in the footsteps of previous stars like Aubameyang, Dembele, Sancho, and Harland, who moved on to play for high profile clubs in Europe.

Karim Adeyemi is Half Nigerian Half Romanian
Karim Adeyemi has Nigerian roots from his father’s side and Romanian roots from his mother’s side. His father, Abbey, originates from the city of Ibadan in southwestern Nigeria while his mother Alexandria is from the city of Brasov in Romania.
The couple crossed paths with each other in the German city of Munich where Abbey had moved to pursue his football career. The older Adeyemi was a professional footballer who played the game for many years in Nigeria before moving abroad to Germany. He however struggled to have a pro career in Germany as he was a late bloomer. He would later abandon the game and start working various menial jobs to make ends meet.
It was during this time that he met a Romanian woman named Alexandria and fell in love with her. They were said to have fallen in love over their shared interest and experiences.

Karim-David Adeyemi was welcomed into the world on 18 January 2002 in Munich, Germany. He spent his early years in the city of his birth and it was here that he began playing football. By the time he turned 6, Karim had joined the youth system of TSV Forstenried. His parents encouraged his playing career and were supportive of it from the get-go.

Adeyemi Had a Brief Stint with the Bayern Youth Team
At 8 years old, Karim Adeyemi’s talent became evident for everyone to see and so he was enrolled at The Walter Klingenback School which is affiliated with the prestigious academy of Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich. He was with the academy for two years before an impasse in negotiations saw him move to another team, SpVgg Unterhaching in 2012. The youngster rose through the ranks at the team, making his debut for the club’s under-19 team in 2018. It did not take long before he bagged his first goal for the team although they would end up suffering relegation at the end of the season.
The failures of his team did nothing to stop his progress though as he caught the attention of Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg who signed him to a three-year deal. The club subsequently loaned him to its feeder team FC Liefering from 2018 to 2020. Adeyemi made a total of 35 appearances for the side, scoring 15 goals along the way.
In 2021, Karim Adeyemi became a full-fledged member of the Red Bull Salzburg senior team. Between 2021 snd 2022, he managed to make 66 appearances and score 27 goals. He clearly looks like he can make it in the big leagues and as a result, he opted to join Borussia Dortmund, a team that has a history of building stars of the game. For his services, Dortmund had to pay a whopping 32 million pounds to Salzburg.
Karim Adeyemi’s International Career
Karim Adeyemi could have certainly played for Nigeria and Romania but he chose to suit up for the country of his birth, Germany. He had represented Die Mannschaft at under-16, under-17, and under-21 levels so it was no surprise when he honored an invitation to play for the senior team in a World Cup qualification game in 2021.
Adeyemi came on as a substitute and marked the occasion with a goal as Germany went on to beat Armenia by six goals to nil.
