Johnny Davis’s Father was an NBA Player for the Milwaukee Bucks
Johnny Davis is the son of former NBA player Mark Davis. He was born Jonathan Christian Davis on the morning of February 27, 2002. His twin Jordan arrived eight minutes later. The twin babies were born in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After the birth of the twins, the new father draped his twin boys in blankets; Johnny in blue and Jordan in white. He took a picture of himself and his new boys with two orange Nerfs basketball that rests between his sons.
Mark Davis was a sensational collegiate basketball player at Old Dominion in the 1980s, he played professional basketball for 13 seasons, including 31 games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1988-89 after being selected in the fourth round of the 1985 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. His past and the love he has for basketball turned out to be the driving force behind his sons’ success in the game today.
Aside from Johnny and his twin brother, Mark and Sarah Davis welcomed another set of twins, this time, a boy and a girl named Maxwell and Samantha birthed four years after the birth of their first twin boys.
Johnny Davis Has a Close Bond with his Twin Brother Jordan Davis
Birthed from the same mother on the same day must come with its perks, yes? The two boys are not only identical but they also share the same interest in basketball and like Johnny, Jordan also plays for the Wisconsin Badgers. When Johnny’s mother, Sarah arrived at the doctor’s office in the fall of 2001 knowing she was 18 weeks pregnant, she was met with the joyful yet unexpected news that she was carrying twins. Months later, she gave birth to two basketball players who will cement their names in the heart of basketball fans.
Johnny and Jordon have been inseparable since they were in their mother’s womb and they remain so today. Though they are different in many ways they are identical twins who share the same interest in basketball. From the personality viewpoint, it was reported that while Jordan is more outgoing, and cheerful; Johnny, on the other hand, isn’t rude by any means but maintains a poker face that Jordan describes as “that scary look where everyone thinks he’s mad at the world.” Their mother, Sarah sometimes calls Johnny her “ornery boy.”
The duo grew up as competitive young boys playing basketball in the driveway of their ranch home on the south side of La Crosse. At the end of each game, the loser of the game would get angry, storm inside and slam his bedroom door. Eventually, the rage would subside and the boys would be right back at it in the driveway the next day. Or maybe even that same day.
Todd Fergot, Red Raiders coach who was with the twins since they started playing at the age of 4 in the La Crosse Central Basketball Association, also testified to the competitive nature of the twins, he further said “I think that they would be good without each other. But they’re better because of each other.” As the twins mature, they became best friends and got along better especially during their high school days because they have been teammates since second grade regardless of the sport.
Aside from their personality, they both have different game strategies. While Jordan was the more powerful scorer of the two for the longest time growing up, the title has now been seized by Johnny. Nevertheless, Jordan is the better 3-point shooter of the two. Regardless of who the better player is, they both are quite talented and put in their all during the games.
Additionally, the twins share what Jordan refers to as a “twin bond,” chemistry where they seem to know what the other is going to do or where he’s going to be. Their ability to predict each other’s moves shows in the basketball and the football game, which is not lost on their mother who is also convinced that there is some intense twin chemistry between her kids.
