Kristen Harabedian is the lovely wife of Major League Baseball (MLB) player Trea Turner. Turner has been in the headlines on numerous occasions for both the right and wrong reasons. Ever since he made his MLB debut, he has for one reason or the other been the point of discussion. We must admit that it has mostly been for his remarkable talent and ability than for any other negative thing that he might have done in the past.
In 2019, while playing for the Washington Nationals, Turner who is renowned for being one of the fastest runners in the league became a World Series champion. He received all the plaudits for his achievements and rightly so because he deserves it. One familiar face who was by his side during all the celebrations was his wife Kristen Harabedian. A former athlete herself, Kristen understands what it takes to be a champion so she would not take her husband’s victory for granted as some other WAGs might do.
Kristen Harabedian Was A Notable Gymnast in High School and College
Kristen Harabedian’s date of birth has been listed as 1st May 1992. From around the age of five, she started taking gymnastics classes. By the time she turned 9, she was competing in Arena Gymnastics. Kristen would go on to attend Hunterdon Central Regional High School in New Jersey where she began making strides as a gymnast. She was notably named the 2008 Central Jersey Section 2 Gymnast of the Year. That same year, she and two of her friends who were all nicknamed The Three Muskateers led their school to its first-ever Sectional title.
Following her exploits in high school which got her featured in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd segment, Kristen accepted a scholarship to attend North Carolina State. She carried up with her performances in college, however, there were not as many highlights as she had gotten in high school. One stand-out performance of hers happened in her junior year in 2013 during an NC State gymnastics meet against West Virginia. She scored 9.725 points to help her team score a season-high 48.700 total points that helped maintain their lead for the meet by a margin of 0.175 with a score of 97.600-97.425.
Kristen Met and Fell In Love With Her Husband At NC State
Kristen Harabedian was a student at North Carolina State when she met Trea Turner, the man who would turn out to be her husband in the future. Trea was already making strides towards a career at the time. This is because the Pittsburgh Pirates had selected him out of high school in the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. Regardless, he opted to attend college, choosing NC State over Florida Atlantic University.
Trea appeared to have made the right decision on both a personal and professional note as he would go on to meet the love of his life as well as improve his game. As a junior in 2014, a year after playing for the United States national collegiate baseball team, he was named the winner of the Brooks Wallace Award. This improved his draft stock tremendously and he would go on to be selected 13th overall in the 2014 draft by the San Diego Padres.
Trea Turner has gone on to have a decent career, winning a couple of awards along the way. He did all this with Kristen by his side and the duo would go on to become man and wife.
Kristen Harabedian Became Trea Turner’s Wife In 2018
After having dated for at least five years, Trae Turner decided it was time to make things official with Kristen in November 2018. The duo got married at the historic St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Washington, DC. The couple chose the church because of its history and its location at Capitol Hill. They wanted to thrill their out-of-town guests with the sights of DC. The couple also had this in mind when they were looking for a venue for their reception. They ended up choosing the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
They year after they got married, Turner became a Word Series champion. Two years later in 2021, he was the National League batting champion and was named an All-Star among other achievements. These professional achievements, however, did not hold water to him becoming a father for the first time.
In February 2021, Kristen Harabedian and her husband announced the birth of their son, Beckham Dash Turner. Kristen took to Instagram to tell the world that her son weighed six pounds, 15 ounces, and measured just over 20 inches at birth.
