Despite being deeply in love with one another, Emily’s parents could not keep their love going as Canelo aimed to have a boxing career. It is reported that Canelo and Karen separated immediately after Emily’s birth, but no reasons were given as to why. It is only alleged that Canelo was not ready to quite settle down. He, however, took care of his daughter’s needs and even bought his ex-girlfriend a home.
Emily has since grown up to maintain a very close relationship with her father. The young lady grew up idolizing her father, who is an all-time boxing great, and has gained so much popularity due to his celebrity status. Canelo gave her the nickname Cinnamon because she has his red hair.
