Dmitry Bivol is a Russian of Moldovan-Korean Decent
Dmitry Bivol was born in the city of Tokmok, Kyrgyz SSR, what is present-day Kyrgyzstan. His father is a Moldovan man named Yuriy while his mother Yelena is an ethnic Korean from Kyrgyzstan. The boxer was raised in his birth country by his farmer parents until the age of 11 years old when his family migrated to Russia for economic reasons. He would go on to spend the rest of his life in Russia, a country he now identifies as his country of origin.
