    Renae Ingles is the wife of NBA player Joe Ingles. While fans of basketball in America might only know her for her connections to her husband, who is famous for being the Utah Jazz all-time leader in 3 pointers made, Renae is a star in her own right. Around the world, and particularly in her home country of Australia, she is known for her exploits as a netball player. She is a former Australian international who played in 67 tests for her country, winning a number of awards along the way.

    Renae Ingles is an Aussie

    Renae Ingles was born Renae Hallinan on the 18th of July 1986. Much about her birth family is not known, unlike her husband who we know is the son of Lynne and Tim Ingles.

    For her education, Renae attended a Roman Catholic secondary school in Belgrave, Melbourne called Mater Christi College. She is also known to have once been a student at Carey Baptist Grammar School. She subsequently enrolled at La Trobe University where she completed her studies before launching her professional netball career.

    Her Professional Netball Career Began in 2003

    Renae Ingles began her professional netball career as a teenager in 2003. The then 17-year-old signed on to play for the Melbourne Phoenix in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy (National Net League). She made a total of 43 appearances for the side between 2003 and 2007 before moving to join another team. In 2008, the player was on the roster of the Melbourne Vixens who were playing in the ANZ Championships.

    2009 was a very successful year for Renae as her team won their first ANZ Championship title and she played a key role in them being victorious. These performances did not go unnoticed by the national Australian team as she was immediately promoted to the senior side having previously played for the under-21s. To cap of the dominant year, she was further named Netball Australia’s Australian International Player of the Year in 2009.

    Mrs. Ingles remained with the Vixens until she joined the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2012. She spent five years with the team, making a total of 53 appearances, before announcing her retirement in 2017. Her time with the Thunderbirds was also a successful one as she won a number of team and individual awards, including Australian International Player of the Year in 2013.

    Renae Ingles Briefly Came Out of Retirement

    Midway through 2018, Renae decided to step out of retirement to continue her career. She returned to one of her former teams, the Melbourne Vixens, where she played for just over a year before opting to quit for good. During this time, she also played for the Australian Diamonds in the 2018/19 international season.

    Renae and Joe Ingles Got Married in 2015

    In 2014, while Renae was a member of the Adelaide Thunderbirds, she took to Twitter to announce that she had got engaged to NBA player Joe Ingles. It is not clear how the two got to know each other as Joe was at the time playing basketball with Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was part of the team that won the 2013–14 EuroLeague championship. Before his time in Isreal, he played for Barcelona (2010-2013) and Granada (2009-2010).

    Regardless of the distance, as Joe would move to the United States in July 2015 to play for the Utah Jazz, the pair got married on the 29th of August 2015. Renae and Joe’s wedding was held at the Bird in Hand Winery in Adelaide, Australia in front of friends and family.

    The Couple Have Three Children

    Renae Ingles announced in January 2016 that she was taking time off her career because she had gotten pregnant. Sometime in the Northern hemisphere summer of that year, the couple became first-time parents as they welcomed twins; a girl named Milla and a boy named Jacob, born in Melbourne.

    Four years later, in November 2020, the couple had a third child, a son named Jack born in the USA.
