Hroniss Grasu (born on 12th August 1991) is an American football player also famous as the partner of WNBA player Sabrina Ionescu, who currently plays for the New York Liberty.
While Grasu’s relationship with Ionescu has made him famous beyond the NFL world, he has a few achievements to his name. The Center, who was drafted in 2015 after playing college football at Oregon and was a two-time First-team All American, has played for the Chicago Bears (2015–2017), Baltimore Ravens (2018 and 2019), Miami Dolphins (2018), Tennessee Titans (2019), and San Francisco 49ers (2020). He is most recently signed to the Las Vegas Raiders (2021–present).

Hroniss Grasu was born on the 12th of August 1991 in California, USA. He originally hails from Los Angeles, California, and has Romanian ancestry. His name Grasu means The Fat Man in the Romanian language. He has an older brother named Nico, who was a placekicker for Washington State from 2008 to 2010.
His parents, Ștefan and Mariana Grasu, migrated from Romania to the USA in 1982. They own and run the “Greco’s New York Pizzeria,” a pizza restaurant located on Hollywood Boulevard. Meanwhile, his father previously worked as a stuntman in the film industry in Romania, while his mother was a goaltender for the Romania national handball team.
Hronis grew up with his parents and brother in Los Angeles, where he attended Crespi Carmelite High School. At Crespi, Hroniss was roommates with Bryan Bennett, Oregon’s former backup quarterback. The two were also teammates during the start of their careers at Oregon.

Following his graduation, Hroniss was enrolled at the University of Oregon. In his senior season, he took over as the starting center for the Oregon Ducks. In 2013, he was named an All-American and earned All-Pac-12 First-team. In 2013 and 2014, Grasu was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy. Hroniss’s professional career took off in 2015 when the Chicago Bears drafted him with the 71st overall pick in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He spent two years with the Chicago Bears and was released on 2nd September 2018. The move reunited him with his former teammate in college, Kyle Long. On 24th September 2018, he was signed by the Baltimore Ravens and played in three games before he was released on 24th November of the same year.
Then on 12th December 2021, Grasu was acquired by the Miami Dolphins but was released nine days later. Following that, he was signed by Tennessee Titans on 7th February 2019. Until his final release on 3rd December, Grasu was signed and released three times. His move to Tennessee Titans this time reunited him with his college teammate Marcus Mariota.
