Sadik Started Bodybuilding in His Late Teens
Sadik Hadzovic was born on June 8, 1987, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, formerly known as Yugoslavia. In his early days, his family departed from war-torn Yugoslavia and settled in the United States of America. Sadik is tight-lipped about his early life and as such we do not have details about his parents and siblings. However, it can be gathered from his social media pages that he shares a close bond with his family, especially his mother whom he loves dearly and acknowledges for her role in his success. Similarly, Sadik adores his father for the role he played in strengthening his character.
As a young boy growing up in New York, he was inspired by the physiques of superheroes in comic books and he wanted to look like them. Sadly, he had trouble putting on muscle, which was leading to a lack of self-confidence. He started doing plyometrics in his room until he had enough money to join a gym.
At the age of 18 years, he weighed 139 pounds and stood at 5 feet 11 inches tall, but was still insecure about his physique. He then took his training and diet to another level, changing his diet plan and starting to eat frequently with smaller meals. He trained rigorously until he reached 240 pounds. By the time he was 24 years, he had achieved his dream body and thereafter decided then to become a bodybuilder.
Sadik Hadzovic Won the 2015 Arnold Sports Festival
Sadik Hadzovic took up strength training at a young age. His desire for strength building was unmatched, and he invested his time and effort into workouts. Upon realizing that his diet wasn’t enough to meet his goals, he changed his diet plan and improved his nutrition. After years of consistent hard work and dedication, he decided to become a professional bodybuilder at the age of 24. He made his competitive debut in the 2011 NPC Eastern USA Championship and came third. He also competed in Brooklyn Grand Prix events and finished second. Sadik continued to train harder. Determined to be among the best, his determination earned him the nickname “The Physique”.
In 2012, he made yet another remarkable achievement when he competed in the NPC Metropolitan Championships, and emerged as the winner, bagging the first title of his career. In the same year, he won first place at the year’s IFBB Valenti Gold Cup. That’s not all he also finished second in the 2012 NPC Junior USA Championships which provided him with the opportunity to participate in the Junior National Championships. He won the gold at the Nationals thereby receiving the Pro card. 2012 is Sadik’s year, as he subsequently bagged the 2012 NPC Athlete of the Month award.
He became more prominent in the industry after receiving his Pro card. Like a Pro, Sadik kept on pushing forward and came second in the 2012 IFB Greater Gulf State Pro competition. In the space of 3 years, he entered eight Pro competitions and made it to the podium seven times. His greatest achievement was winning the 2015 Arnold Sports Festival named after bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and earning second place at Olympia for two consecutive years (2014 & 2015).
In the year 2016, Sadik Hadzovic transferred into the Classic Physique division where he competed in the Olympia and came third overall. A year later, he returned to the Classic Physique Olympia and came seventh. He did not compete in 2018 but returned to the competitive stage in 2019. Subsequently, he participated in the 2019 Arnold Sports Festival and finished sixth.
