Marissa’s husband Brian is a legendary freestyle motocross rider. He suffered a ghastly accident in 2005 while attempting a backflip during filming for a television show titled ‘Viva La Bam’. The accident was so severe that it cost him his kidney and four pints of blood. While doctors believed that he would not survive the accident, Brian miraculously survived it. The near-death experience nudged Brian to become a born-again Christian.
Before the accident in 2004, Brian wrote history as the first-ever professional freestyle motocross rider to do a twisting backflip 360 in a competition. He named the landing the Mulisha Twist, but it is commonly referred to as an underflip.
